International Week Swimming Challenge Learn more about our challenge to swim the width of Qatar!

In the week leading up to our International Week celebrations at Gharaffa, we have decided to challenge ourselves as a school community to swim the width of Qatar.

This is approximately 90,000 metres (or 6,429 lengths of our school pool).  We are sure that you will all agree this is an incredibly ambitious target!

In the week beginning November 3, children in Early Years 2 to Year 6 will participate in distance swims during their school swimming lesson.  Every lap completed will be counted and put towards our school total.  In addition to this, staff will be swimming over break times, to support the efforts of the children and add to our overall distance swum.

As we are keen to involve our whole community, we are inviting parents to also take part in a distance swim and contribute towards our target distance. Sessions will be for men and women, and will take place at the Gharaffa campus, in the school pool on:

Sunday 3 November, 7.30am to 8.10am

Thursday 7 November, 7.30am to 9.00am

If you would like to be a part of this event, please sign up using the QR code below,  click here or via the link provided on your child’s Class Dojo. Parents who sign up should meet the PE staff in the Pergola at 7.15am on their selected day(s).  Unfortunately, to ensure safety on the poolside, we will be unable to accommodate spectators and children during these times.
