Student Leaders set up market stalls on the playground containing books, toys and games in preparation for our UNICEF toy market. Children from across the school excitedly visited the stalls and had fun purchasing various items. All proceeds will be sent to UNICEF via Qatar Charity. Thank you to all parents and children who helped to not only support this event but to raise awareness for this worthy cause.
Also last week, our Student Leaders hosted a special UNICEF assembly as we are now approaching World Children’s Day. During the assembly, we watched video excerpts featuring students from across the school reading out children’s rights. In order to further awareness of children’s rights we have asked that all our children and staff dress in blue on Wednesday 20th November. Thank you to Ms Hunashi for working with the student leaders in preparation for Thursday’s assembly and well done to all our student presenters.
Yesterday, the Madinat Khalifa Secondary team visited the campus to present this year’s Secondary Showcase. We were delighted to hear about the school’s successes including the school’s recent IGCSE Coordinated Science achievement where the school received the highest mark in Qatar for Coordinated Science. Our previous Head Boy and Head Girl also joined the team to give our children an overview of life in Secondary. We hope our parents and children found the morning informative. If you do have any further questions then please contact Tom Douch, Head of Secondary Madinat Khalifa campus. There will also be an Open Evening at the Madinat Khalifa campus on Wednesday 20 November from 4.30pm to 7.pm. We look forward to seeing our families at this event.
Well done to our boys and girls Year 5 and Year 6 football teams who competed against 12 other Doha schools this week. Congratulations to our Year 5 girls who brought home a silver medal, our Year 6 girls fought hard and came in 5th place. Our boys also competed well coming seventh overall. Thank you to both our teams for all their hard work and once again to our PE teachers for preparing the students for this event.
