Whether you are new to our school or returning after the summer break, we would like to make you familiar with the arrangements for the first day of term on Sunday, 25 August 2019.
The school day, as always, for all primary students will start at 07:15. Students should arrive at school no later than 07:10. Class list will be posted in the reception area where parents and students will be met by members of the teaching team and directed to their new classes.
Parents are invited to remain and enjoy a coffee in the sports hall where there will be a short welcome presentation from the school leadership team at 07:40.
The school day ends at 13:30. Students will be escorted to the shaded area on the playground where they must be collected on time by an adult. Students using the bus service will be taken to the designated bus collection point at the rear of the school.
During the first week, there will be opportunities for parents to meet the class teacher and be provided with an overview of the year’s learning. These meetings will take place in the classrooms on the following days:
Years 1 & 2 Monday, 26 August 07:30 – 08:00
Years 3 & 4 Monday, 26 August 13:00 – 13:00
Years 5 & 6 Tuesday, 27 August 07:30 – 08:00
I would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to our School in Action Morning where you will have the opportunity to visit any of the primary classrooms and immerse yourself in educational activities alongside your child. This will take place on Tuesday, 17 September between 07:30 – 08:00.
This term, we will also be hosting a series of teaching and learning workshops for parents. We will be in touch in the next few weeks with more information. Please ensure you read our email communications along with your child’s weekly learning letters for more updates about these and other school-related events.
Over the summer break, the Facilities Team have been working hard to improve our provision by refurbishing our multi-sports court; adding additional shaded areas to the playground; upgrades to the laptops and iPad provision; redecorating the primary library and improving meeting spaces.
We are looking forward to welcoming you and your family to Compass International School Doha and hope you enjoy being part of our learning community.
Yours sincerely,
Jimmy Frawley
