I hope your family had a wonderful time this holiday and found an opportunity to relax and catch up with friends and family far and wide. We welcome all new families and hope your children have settled very well into our school.
Once again, we have a very busy term. Please refer to the ‘What’s on’ calendar which the school sent out prior to the holidays for an overview of the term. We would be delighted to see all our parents at this term’s events which we hope you will find very useful and enjoyable.
Last week, our children were introduced to new IPC units of study. The children in Year 3 had a particularly delightful time sampling chocolate for their ‘Chocolate’ IPC entry point. Early Years had a fun time on Thursday as they came to school dressed as pirates and participated in many fun, pirate-related activities such as hunting for treasure. They also received a special letter from Captain Blackbeard who will be visiting them very soon. Thank you to all the Teachers and LAs for creating such a special, memorable day for the children.
Also on Thursday, last term’s House Point winning team arrived at school dressed in yellow (West House Team colours). The children enjoyed parading their success on the playground and in class. Well done once again to West.
Ms Hunashi launched this term’s Global Campus comic strip competition in Thursday’s assembly. The competition is for students in Year 3 to Year 6. More information will follow shortly.
Thank you to Mr Dart and Ms Hall for leading Wednesday’s Year 5 camp presentation. We hope our Year 5 parents found the meeting useful and feel reassured that the trip will be a fantastic experience for all the children.
On Tuesday, our Friends of Compass School (FCS) team welcomed existing and new parents to the school. We all enjoyed a coffee and catch up in our playground pergola. Thank you once again to our FCS team for organising Tuesday’s event.
Today our fantastic PE department led a Compass Inter school Swim competition at the Madinat Khalifa campus. We will announce the results in next week’s newsletter. Well done to all our swimmers.
Please remember that if you have any concerns that it is important to speak to your child’s class teacher as soon as possible. Have a happy and healthy 2020!
