In class, activities were organised which enabled parents to gain an insight into how teachers engage children and inspire memorable learning in the classroom. We hope all our parents found the morning enjoyable.
As a school we work very closely with parents and provide numerous opportunities for parents to speak to us and share their thoughts. Last week, we held our termly Class Representatives meeting when we asked parents to communicate what we are doing well and how we can improve. We discussed school jumpers and fleeces at the meeting and I have fed back your thoughts to our Finance team. Thank you to all Class Representatives who attended the meeting. There is always a positive community buzz at all our events.
Last week’s Year 1 to Year 6 parent workshops were once again a fantastic success. I’d like to thank all our wonderful teachers for preparing resources and activities to share with parents. Once again, our teachers ensured parents had a complete overview which detailed how children learn best. Thank you to all parents who attended the workshops. We hope you are now able to better support your children at home. Tomorrow, Early Years will be hosting an in class phonics workshop for parents. I look forward to seeing parents at this event.
We ended last week with a successful assembly led by 4C. The children showed their understanding of life in Ancient Egypt which was linked to the International Primary Curriculum unit, ‘Temples, Tombs and Treasure’. Through the use of technology, well-delivered, expressive line delivery, beautiful costumes, audience interaction and humour the children ensured we enjoyed a memorable learning experience. Well done to the 4C team, led by Ms Djedid.
During assembly, our children were encouraged to participate in a poster competition. The winning entry will be posted on the front cover of our production booklet and I have also heard that there will be a small prize. I’d like all children to have a go and I very much look forward to seeing some of our entries. As the production is called, ‘Charlie’ the poster should link to the Roald Dahl, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ story.
Have an enjoyable week.
