We are now the proud owners of two benches which you may have noticed near the astro-turf. These benches are, sadly, a little lonely and uninspired but our Student Voice have plans to turn them in to beautiful and happy Friendship Benches. Using the full power of our student’s creativity, these will soon be bright and fun places where people can take a moment to find a friend, or be a friend to others.
The FCS Table Top sale is growing, with more applications from people within our community to sell their wares. Should you be interested, please speak to a member of FCS, or sign up at Reception with Mrs Lewis. You may also be interested in joining our FCS group and lending a hand in the organisation of events within the school; if so, please speak to Mr. Creissen.
This week, unfortunately, our attendance fell below the 95% as a school. Attendance in school is of vital importance in helping your child to grow and develop both academically and socially and I can’t stress enough the positive impact of the school routine. Should your child be ill and unable to attend school, we naturally understand and would welcome a medical note.
This last week, we had the opportunity to welcome many new families through our doors for the Early Years assessment sessions. It was a pleasure to meet so many pleasant young children and their faces. We look forward to welcoming them to our Rayyan family in August.
On Thursday, the Student Voice team, working alongside the Eco Warriors, launched our EcoBricks initiative. Our students were distraught to learn about the impact that plastic can have upon the environment and researched ways to make a difference. They are eager to collect scraps of plastic in order to make EcoBricks before then constructing items for our playground. More information can be found here.
Next week, the spectacular Rayyan International Week will kick off. On Tuesday we shall certainly be the most colourful place in Doha as we hold both our International Parade and the much anticipated buffet. Our week will finish with a showcase at 11:45, in the school hall, displaying all of our learning from the international studies. We look forward to seeing you there!
