PE Standards
Each of the Physical Education divisions in the school use the same four standards to assess the students; however, each division and grade level’s descriptions of the standards reflect what the students should know and be able to do by the end of the school year (or semester for High School students). These four standards and their descriptions are as follows:
Health and Fitness - Students know and apply the five components of physical fitness as they are related to various fitness concepts.
Motor Skills and Movement - Students know the fundamental and complex motor skills and movements necessary to perform a variety of physical activities.
Concepts, Vocabulary, Strategies - Students know health and fitness related concepts and vocabulary that enable them to engage in and discuss the principles of a variety of activities.
Performance and Participation - Students participate regularly in a variety of both individual and group activities and develop goals that will promote commitment to a healthy lifestyle that they have the knowledge to design for their individual interests.
