Ms. S. Halmshaw

Ms. Halmshaw

Head of Year 3 & 3B Class Teacher

After graduating from the University of Leicester with a degree in Psychology, Ms. Halmshaw then went on to get a job working as a teaching assistant in a secondary school. It was this experience that lead to her to decide to start a career in teaching. After completing her PGCE (again at the University of Leicester) she successfully gained a job working in East London. She has now worked in Bethnal Green for four years and this has given her invaluable experience teaching children from diverse cultures, backgrounds and religions.

My career highlights to date include taking a group of children to sing at the O2 Arena, as part of the Young Voices tour, where they were part of a huge 8,000 person choir and also organising a Film and Art project working with a London artist and gallery, students, parents and teachers.

My hobbies outside of school include reading thriller novels, trying new foods and eating out in different restaurants, baking (I'm especially good at chocolate brownies), running (to counter act all the chocolate brownies) and  going to the theatre to see both plays and musicals.

I'm especially looking forward to seeing what the food scene in Hong Kong has to offer and also enjoying the beaches and fantastic travel opportunities during holiday times.
