Mr. R. Speed

Mr. R. Speed

Computing Teacher, Sandringham A House Tutor

Mr. Speed holds a Masters Degree from the University of Lancaster, alongside a PGCE from Manchester University; he teaches Computer Science here at Nord Anglia International School, Hong Kong. Having taught previously in the UK and Japan, he moved to Hong Kong in 2016.

Mr. Speed now teaches Key Stage 3 Computer Science based primarily in our Lam Tin Campus, but is a recognizable face through the school having previously taught in year 3 and 5 and serving as our Computing Subject Coordinator for our primary school over each of our three campus locations. 

Mr. Speed has begun his management journey by taking part in our well established middle leadership programme, where he produced a video dissertation on Screentime, and has helped shape and adapt our Computer Science Curriculum since joining us in our second year of opening. He attended the prestigious residential course alongside our collaborators at MIT in Cambridge, Boston and is an ambassador for our thriving STEAM challenges and events which are a highpoint in our school calendar. 

Mr. Speed is adept at all things technological and promotes project based learning with an interdisciplinary focus in all of his lessons. This love of technology extends into his hobbies that include content creation on youtube, photography and augmented reality gaming.
