Who are Village high school students?
Our Village Viking champions: they are the risk-takers, the in-depth knowledge-acquirers, the local actors on a global stage. Perpetually curious, they embrace uncertainty. They are not fond of the status quo and they seek a deeper understanding of what shapes our lives. They see things differently.
Our high school students are the bold and audacious, the courageous. They articulate and defend what they believe. They are of service and make a positive difference in the lives of others. They are the seekers of elegant solutions to complex problems. They are the artists, the collaborators, the critical thinkers, the creative problem-solvers, and where others may see disorder, they see evolution. Their life-long love of learning moves the whole world forward.
They are Village Vikings.
High School Curriculum
Our Village students study the complete curriculum, including exposure to the full set of sciences, humanities, creative subjects, and languages. Our approach to each subject has been carefully designed to give each student the best foundation for their future studies and careers, combining a broad range of general and specialist knowledge with intensive research, analysis and critical thinking skills.
In years 9 and 10, all pupils study subjects which prepare them for a diverse selection of academic opportunities. In years 11 and 12, students can choose either to study our highly successful International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme or to pursue a portfolio of IB certificates – both of which provide a rigorous academic background and open up a wide range of university options and career pathways for our graduates.
The following course options form the basis of our high school curriculum. Read more about each subject for a more detailed view of the topics covered by our world-class curriculum.
