School Calendar: 2026-2027

These are the important dates for planning your child’s academic year at Village. 
Calendar 2026-27

Lower School

  • Submit Contract & Deposit
    The first step is to submit the enrollment contract and deposit. You should have received an email from The Village School with your CRF (contract request form) after being accepted. Once submitted, it will trigger your enrollment contract. There will be one contract per student. Your student’s status will be “Enrolled” once their contract and deposit payment have been received.
  • Immunization Records & SNAP
    For all three divisions under Immunization records & SNAP: All enrolled students are required to have up-to-date immunization records on file. Before students may start classes, documents must be reviewed and verified by the division nurse. Records must be uploaded to your Ravenna account or emailed directly to our nurse’s office. Please visit our School Clinic page to learn more about immunization requirements and setting up your SNAP health records portal.

    All new parents must provide the school with an Immunization record, documented in the English language, with a doctor's signature or stamp. An up-to-date immunization record from a previous school will be accepted.

    If a parent is applying for an Affidavit to be excused from a vaccine/s, the Affidavit can only be obtained when residing in the US. This Affidavit must be given to the nurse by the first day of school in order for classes to commence. Please note that the Affidavit must be notarized, and the nurse will need the original. All new residential students must undergo a Tb QuantiFERON blood test and obtain results prior to coming to the US.

    After you enroll, the nurse emails the primary contact to grant access to create a profile in your SNAP health portal. After receiving this email, please

    - Provide medical history & special requirements and permissions.

  • Bus Transportation
    Students in Kindergarten and above may also register for our bus services. Please refer to Bus Services page below for more details.
  • After Class Enrichment
    Students may also register for a variety of courses through ACE that explore extracurriculars such as fencing, soccer, theater, robotics and more! Please contact Director of Before/After School Programs and Camps at adreanna.gantt@thevillageschool.com for more information.

Middle School

    Incoming middle school students take a math placement test. Please refer to your welcome letter (received via email) to schedule this.
  • Elective Selection
    Incoming middle school students are required to complete the online form to select their electives. Please refer to your welcome letter sent via email. *Please be advised that course availability will vary throughout the year.
  • Bus Transportation
    Students in Kindergarten and above may also register for our bus services. Please refer to Bus Services page below for more details.

High School (Grades 9-12)

If students are interested in taking a world language course, they will also be required to take a world language placement test. Please refer to your welcome letter (received via email) to schedule these tests.
  • Official Final Transcript Request
    Incoming high school students must request for official final transcripts from their previous institution to be sent to our registrar at registrar@thevillageschool.com This is mandatory for credit confirmation and for the university admissions process.
  • Course Selection
    Incoming high school students complete course selection with a college counselor following the completion of placement testing. Please be advised that course availability will vary throughout the year. During the months of June-July, students may complete course selection with the Curriculum Director instead of a college counselor.

Located in our High School, your child can access The Village Campus Store, which sells Village apparel, spirit merchandise, gifts, school supplies, and on-the-go healthy food products, billable to your child’s Village account monthly.

Athletics and Physical Education

The Village School promotes physical health, teamwork, and personal growth across all grade levels. Students participate in Physical Education and competitive sports in ways that support both wellness and graduation requirements.
L.S. P.E
Lower School
Lower school students take Physical Education as part of their Specials rotations. Students do not dress out for PE classes. Students should wear comfortable shoes that allow for safe movement and activity to school each day. Recess is also part of their daily schedule.
MS Athletics
Middle School
Beginning in 5th grade, all middle school students are required to take Physical Education each year. PE classes meet 4 days a week (class days vary by grade level). Families must purchase at least (2) sets of PE uniforms from the school store. All required paperwork, including an annual physical, must be submitted to be eligible to participate. Please contact the Athletics department for more information.
HS Ahletics
High School
Students must earn 1 Physical Education credit to meet graduation requirements. This may be earned by taking 1 full year of Physical Education as a class in their schedule OR playing 2 full seasons of a school sport. All required paperwork, including an annual physical, must be submitted to be eligible to participate. Please contact the Athletics department for more information.
Off campus PE credit
Off-Campus PE Credit
Middle and High school students who are involved in a competitive sport outside of school may seek approval to earn off-campus PE credit. Please contact your division leads for more information.

Fine Arts

Fine Arts opportunities at The Village School support creative expression and artistic growth across multiple disciplines. Students may participate in music, visual arts, dance, theatre, and related programs throughout their school experience.

L.S. Arts
Lower School
Daily fine arts participation does not require registration. After school programming is separate.
Lower School
Band, Choir, and Orchestra
Students participate in Music class as part of their daily specials. In Grade 4, students rotate through Band, Choir, and Orchestra ensemble classes.

Visual Arts
Visual Arts is part of the elementary curriculum, and students participate in visual arts lessons throughout their time in elementary school. ACE also offers courses focused on visual arts that students may register for.

Dance
Dance is integrated into the physical education program in Lower School as units of study. All students receive dance instruction.
MS Arts
Middle School
Registration for middle school fine arts are done through your electives form.
Middle School
Band, Choir, and Orchestra
Students may sign up for Band, Orchestra, and Choir by selecting these options on the electives form sent in the welcome email from the Middle School division.

Visual Arts
Visual Arts at the Middle School level focuses on fundamental art techniques across a variety of mediums. Students may also enroll in the Art Car course and participate in the Art Car Parade, or take Photography. Sign-ups are completed through the electives form.

Dance
Students may take curricular dance courses as a replacement for Physical Education. Students may also audition for competitive dance teams beginning in Grade 7.
HS Arts
High School
Registration for all high school fine arts are done through your course selection.
High School

Band, Choir and Orchestra
It is expected that you already know how to play your instrument at this level. The options are:

  • Chamber Choir (classical)
  • Cantati (pop/show choir)
  • Orchestra (string instruments)
  • Concert Band (woodwinds, brass and percussion instruments)
  • Jazz Ensemble (any instrument)

Visual Arts
Several levels of art courses such as Foundations of Art, 2D (drawing and painting), 3D (sculpture and costume design), and Digital/Media (graphic design, photography, film) courses are available.

Dance
Students can take curricular dance courses as a replacement for PE. Students may also audition for competitive dance teams.

Village Reportoire Theater
Village Repertoire Theatre
Each semester the Village Repertory Theatre runs a musical that is auditioned the first week of August or the last week of December for the following semester. Rehearsals run after school throughout the semester, with performances in December and late April. Students in middle and high school may also register for a theatre course during their course or elective selection.
