A TYPICAL DAY AT THE VILLAGE SCHOOL

BECOMING INQUISITIVE
We discover how to be curious and analytical from the very start of our school experience! Learning about the oceans and polar bears, for example, we'll explore why global warming occurs which melts the ice caps and makes hunting more difficult for the bears.

EXPLORING

DISCOVERY THROUGH PLAY
Across our state-of-the-art play areas, our budding explorers move from the hands-on “mud kitchen” to our “snack shack” with a BBQ pit and picnic tables, as they learn about outdoor safety and balance their sensory skills and dexterity.
HAVING FUN

LUNCHTIME PROBLEM-SOLVING
Lunchtime and recess games are important times of social and emotional development. We learn how to solve problems among ourselves as we share with peers and use conscious discipline to distinguish wants from needs.
SHARING WITH OTHERS
Rest Time
QUIET TIME
In the afternoon, we take time to reflect and recharge, as we consider what we’ve learned so far in the day. We’ll use self-discipline and self-soothing techniques to balance ourselves and revitalize for the new lessons ahead.

STORYTELLING
We develop our love for reading when parent “mystery readers” surprise us with read-alouds from their favorite books. To continually develop our literacy, we’ll also use colorful cue cards to practice the alphabet.

TRYING NEW THINGS
After school, we embrace play time as opportunities to try new things energize us to keep learning and exploring. During our After Class Enrichment (ACE) program, we can participate in new games and learn new skills alongside our playmates.

DEEP-DIVING INTO SPECIALITIES
We nourish our talents by giving them dedicated attention. Each day, we attend two specialist classes in French or Spanish, the performing or visual arts, physical education, library, or innovation.
DEVELOPING TALENTS

BECOME INSPIRED
We make visual art for an annual gallery showcase, presenting our ideas and expressions. We’ll integrate scannable QR codes so anyone can easily learn more about what’s on display.

BUILDING SOMETHING NEW
We create our own projects to solve real-world challenges presented by experts at MIT, as we learn the tools we need for success in our makers space and create strategic models with our 3D printers.

GREENHOUSE VISITS
We’ll check the hydroponic towers to see the health of the plants in the greenhouse, applying the principles we’ve learned in our science classes. We’ll simultaneously use this time to reflect on our own goals for growth in our studies.

TAKE A BREAK AND REFUEL
We figure out how to make good decisions, applying strategy and logic. When it’s lunchtime, for example, we’ll choose a heathy side from the salad bar while playing a game of chess, throwing a football, or catching up with friends.

Our academics enrich our minds as we research and evaluate aspects of the world around us. We have memorable lessons in rigorous classes, studying the Theory of Knowledge, a STEM subject like chemistry or algebra, or Spanish.
RESEARCHING AND EVALUATING
Showing Who You Are
SHOWING WHO YOU ARE
As we take a midday break to fuel up, we show who we are. We choose from global cuisine in the cafeteria or snacks in the campus store, break out a guitar to play music in the courtyard, or juggle a soccer ball with a group of friends.
DEFINE YOUR CHARACTER
