ISM Students’ Stunning Spring Concerts

ISM recently hosted three incredible Spring Concerts with our students showcasing their musical talents. Each concert featured the full spectrum of our students’ abilities and wowed the audiences.

Our musicians from Krylatskoe Lower Campus were the first to perform on stage, treating the audience to some great performances. This year, the theme of the Krylatskoe Lower Campus Spring Concert was ‘Summer’. We were certainly ‘warmed up’ by a great range of summer-related songs. The night was opened with students from Years One to Four singing ‘Surfing USA’, making everyone hum along. Later in the evening, our students delivered their wonderful renditions of songs such as: ‘Summer Fun’ and ‘In Summer’.

Over 60 Rosinka musicians played at the Rosinka Spring Concert, with many performing on several different instruments throughout the evening. The theme, ‘Spring Into Jazz’, reflected the highly varied genre of Jazz. The concert kicked off with the Lower Primary Choir, who performed a song in the style of ‘In The Mood’ by Glenn Miller, playing saxophones and trombones. The climax to the concert was the Louis Armstrong song ‘What A Wonderful World’, performed by both choirs and the Rosinka Ensemble. It was a very emotional performance and the performers were given a standing ovation at the end of the piece. They were then asked to perform it again. Second time around, the audience joined in with the singing. After that, there wasn’t a dry eye in the theatre!

Last but certainly not least, the children of Krylatskoe Upper Primary presented their annual Spring Concert, with the theme of ‘The Music of The Beatles’. The students worked incredibly hard throughout the Spring term, with many giving up lunch times and Golden Time, to work in ensembles and quartets to make this a concert to remember, which it truly was. The concert programme not only included ensembles, but also a number of soloists, duos and trios. A spectacular evening was rounded of by the Upper Primary Concert Band with their instrumental version of ‘Help!’, followed by all performers (and audience) coming together to perform ‘All You Need is Love’ and ‘Hey Jude’. The Upper Primary students produced one of the best events seen on Krylatskaya Upper Campus in recent years, thrilling staff and audience members alike.

ISM Spring Concerts are the culmination of a year of musical growth amongst our students. Every year, these concerts continue to amaze everyone in the ISM community. We congratulate all the students on their magnificent performances.
