The International School of Moscow celebrated their annual Cross Campus Swimming Gala on Thursday 16th May 2019. Teams from Krylatskoe and Rosinka campuses took part in the event. Those who participated demonstrated a wealth of skill, determination and hard work.

Students took part in a number of different events, ranging from the 25 metres breaststroke to the 50 metres freestyle. Parents, children and staff all supported each competitor in their chosen events.

The atmosphere was tense as students took to their marks and awaited the starters signal; a roar of support then followed as they began their races.

Particular highlights included the 100m Individual Medley; where each pupil must swim 25 metres of all four recognised swimming strokes - 25 metres butterfly, 25 metres backstroke, 25 metres breaststroke and finally the 25 freestyle.

Excellence in swimming was truly celebrated throughout the event. The quickest 25 metres freestyle time recorded was 15.67 seconds by George of Krylatskoe. This is fantastic 25 metres freestyle time and is a testament to the high quality performance of all the competitors.

Throughout the gala, pupils demonstrated a high level of sportsmanship by celebrating everyone’s success. With over 56 scheduled races, pupils took part in a minimum of four races each. At its close, over 36 medals were awarded to our dedicated students.

Pupils demonstrated their tremendous levels of sportsmanship by shaking everyone else’s hand. This event was a truly unique ISM experience.
