Academic Results

Student progress is evaluated using established examination and assessment procedures common in the UK and top British Schools worldwide, allowing us to clearly benchmark our school standards.

96% of our students received GCSEs between A* and C, including English and Maths. This figure would place us in the top 100 schools in the UK. Dean Moore, Head of Secondary School and Upper Campus

IGCSE Results 2016/17

ISM students and staff are, yet again, celebrating another year of examination success after students exceeded their targets in their GCSE and IGCSE examinations:

  • 66% of students’ grades were between A* and A
  • 86% of their grades were between A* and B
  • 96% of grades were between A* and C

These achievements are an increase on last year’s results which were 55%, 83% and 95% respectively and are significantly above the national average in the United Kingdom.

Paul Keach, Headteacher, said; “I am absolutely delighted that our Year 11 students have achieved such fantastic (I)GCSE examination results. Our students have worked extremely hard and should be very proud that they have been awarded the best grades in our school’s history.”

Dean Moore, Head of Secondary School and Upper Campus, said; “We are extremely proud of our students’ success in their GCSE examinations. This year, 96% of our students received GCSEs between A* and C, including English and Maths. This figure would place us in the top 100 schools in the UK. Additionally, 66% of GCSE grades were either A* or A, and with an average points score of 51.48 per student, means that the most likely GCSE grade for a student at The International School of Moscow is Grade A.”

Adding his congratulations, Ian Storey, Secondary School Deputy Head – Academic, said; “I am delighted that the hard work and determination of our students and staff have culminated in such a wonderful set of examination results at GCSE and IGCSE level. Many of our students surpassed their target grades which is further testament to their drive to be the very best they can be.”

With all of our graduates heading to university, 83% of our students have gained places at leading research universities in the UK, America and Europe. John Staerck, Head of Sixth Form

A Level Results 2016/17

The class of 2017 achieved above national average grades:

  • 52% of grades between A* and A
  • 81% of grades between A* and B
  • 88% of grades between A* and C

One student received 4 A* grades, including 100% in Mathematics.

As with the (I)GCSEs, this is an increase on last year’s results and is testimony to the hard work and determination of ISM students.

Paul Keach, Headteacher, said; “Our students’ A Level results are a fitting testimony to the dedication and hard work that they have displayed in abundance over the course of the last two academic years. Our students have given themselves a fantastic start on their career ladder by not only achieving such impressive grades but also by being awarded places at such prestigious universities all over the world.”

Most students secured their first choice places at universities including St Andrews, Kings College, London, NYU and The University of Amsterdam, to name a few.

Dean Moore, Head of Secondary School and Upper Campus, said; "I am extraordinarily proud of our Year 13 graduates. Their results are a testament to their dedication and motivation. For me, the most pleasing aspect, aside from their excellent results, is that the vast majority of graduates have secured their first choice at some of the world's best universities. On behalf of everyone here on the Upper Campus of The International School of Moscow, I wish them the very best for the future."

Adding his congratulations, John Staerck, Head of Sixth Form, said; "I am extremely proud of our 2017 graduates with over half (52%), achieving A* to A. ISM graduates achieved an average score of 48 which puts us amongst the top 40 schools in the UK. With all of our graduates heading to university, 83% of our students have gained places at leading research universities in the UK, America and Europe."
