Staff Profile: Liam Johnson

Liam Johnson

Head of Primary Physical Education

Liam gained his teaching qualification at Liverpool Hope University, studying a PGCE Primary Postgraduate Qualification specialising in Physical Education. Prior to gaining his PGCE, he studied Sports and Leisure Management from Salford University, UK where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree.

Liam previously worked as a classroom teacher for Year 1 and Year 2 teaching the IB Primary Years Programme in a Reggio Emilia environment. Having worked as a classroom teacher for four years, he decided to change field and revisit his passion which is in Physical Education.

Liam’s enthusiasm for Sport is something which he hopes to pass on to all his students. He believes that teaching his pupils the importance of teamwork, good sportsmanship, integrity and respect are critical aspects of the Physical Education classroom that can benefit the students throughout the rest of their lives.  He continues to strive, looking for innovative and exciting ways to deliver his teaching, and to engage all his students.

Outside school, Liam enjoys travelling and visiting new places with his wife. His hobbies include a wide range of sport, such as football, running, swimming and his favourite which is boxing. When he not participating in sport he likes to listen to music. He is also speaks Spanish and has decided to revisit this language as he undertakes lessons here in Singapore.
