Residential Trips for Years 6 - 11

19 September 2016

This year, residential trips for DCIS students will take place in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar

  • Cruising in Bintan

Dear DCIS Parents and Guardians,

We are all very pleased to welcome our Secondary School students to the new academic year. As a part of our ongoing improvements and in response to parental feedback we have decided to run a series of residential trips for our students this year.

Following the great success of the Year 6 trip to Thailand with Rustic Pathways, we have engaged their services to put together an exciting programme for students from Year 6 to Year 11. Rustic Pathways are a U.S. based company who specialise in the provision of travel and service programmes for students. They have been visiting our planned destinations for many years.

The proposed locations are as follows:

Year 6: Udon Thani: Thailand

Year 7: Phnom Penh & Kampong Cham: Cambodia

Year 8 & 9: Luang Prabang: Laos

Year 10 & 11: Bagan: Myanmar

The approximate cost will be around USD 1,250 (approximately SGD 1,700) and there will be slight price differences between each location. We are planning to run the trips simultaneously during the second week of February 2017.

We are looking to collect deposits shortly so Rustic Pathways can secure flights and confirm final pricing. We will be writing to you with further details and will be running information evenings to give details of the proposed itineraries and answer your questions.

Yours sincerely,

John Smith
Head of Secondary
