Last week we had our very first house event at DCIS and what a great couple of days it was. EYFS to Year 2 had enormous fun chasing parrots and getting their hands messy in their house colours to create a piece of art on our giant canvases. The children looked great in their house colours and it allowed them to feel part of a team and the pictures paint a thousand words!

The second day was a little bit more serious as we look to improve competition in the school and introduce a house system that both involves and challenges every child.  The race really motivated the children and inspired them to work hard and gain points for their respective houses. It was great to see  both staff and children really getting into it and cheering on their houses. The first event was a great success for all and the points are on the board!

The children were not the only ones to take part. All staff members (apart from Mr. Short, Ms Lebihan and Mrs. Rinaldi) are also members of one of the 4 houses. The staff 3km took place after school and was hotly contested with Jurong emerging as the eventual winners!
