Dear DCIS Parents and Guardians,
As you know DCIS became members of FOBISIA (Federation of British International Schools In Asia) last academic year. We are therefore very pleased to enter a team into the FOBISIA U13 Games to be held in Phuket, Thailand, between 21st – 25th February 2018.
The games will see us compete in four different sports against seven other International schools from India, Nepal, Malaysia, Mongolia and Thailand.
As we are limited to the number of students we can take, we need to offer trials for each sport. Students should be able to compete in a minimum of two of the four sports to make the trip viable. As this is an overseas residential sports trip, there will be costs involved for participation fees, hotels and flights. As yet the final costings have not been released by FOBISIA but it is anticipated that the cost should be no more than $1250.
The sports we will be competing in are:
- Football (Boys and Girls)
- Basketball (Boys and Girls)
- Swimming (Boys and Girls)
- Athletics (Boys and Girls)
Once we have selected the squad, sport specific FOBISIA training will take place each Monday, on a sport rotation basis (more details will be given at a later date).
If you are interested in your child trialing to take part in this fantastic opportunity, then please see the trial dates taking place next week, sign and return the slip to myself by Friday 25th August.
Please note that the age cut off is U13 on 1st August 2018.
Please view the flyer for more information. Any more questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
Mr. Mark Holmes
Head of Physical Education
