Thursday afternoon's action saw a full Lions side travel to 'The Arena' sports ground, courtesy of CIS.

With uncharacteristically large goals being preferred by the hosts, a haul of goals was predicted by all the coaches before kick off.

In the first match of the afternoon, the team played out a convincing 3-0 victory. Some excellent goals were scored including a highlight set piece moment; Agastya preferring a slender pass to the left, from an indirect freekick, to Alfonso who finished with precision. Agastya also got himself on the scoresheet later in the match with Kien scoring our second goal at the mid point. A convincing win.

Our final match was an eagerly anticipated rematch with ICS; a side which we had yet to overcome this season with a recent 1-1 draw just before the Christmas break being our only meeting.

In some off field drama, rumours were rife that the opposition's talented winger, who had caused DCIS so much trouble in the previous game, was not in the starting lineup. His absence seemed to confirm the news and certainly gave the boys a boost ahead of what was expected to be a tight and tense affair.

It was DCIS however who exploded out of the blocks and unleashed the most clinical and devastating performance of the season! Goals flew in from all over the pitch with Kien scoring one, Connor grabbing two and Agastya scoring a hattrick over the course of the match. It was Zach's effort from inside his own half however that was the pick of the goals. A thunderous strike from range leaving the opposition goalkeeper (and their coach!) red faced.

Overall, an excellent afternoon of football which sees Mr. Handley's DCIS side remain unbeaten so far this season!

Next week the boys hope to extend their run of form in front of a home crowd at our very own DCIS campus.

We hope to see as many parents there next week as possible.
