Dover Court's New Secondary Building Launch On Wednesday, 9th October we held a ceremony in the Red Dot Restaurant to mark the opening of the Dover Court International School Secondary building.

On Wednesday, 9th October we held a ceremony in the Red Dot Restaurant to mark the opening of the Dover Court International School Secondary building.

We were delighted to welcome HE Kara Owen CVO, British High Commissioner to Singapore as Guest of Honour as well as Dr Bicky Bhangu, President of the British Chamber of Commerce Singapore. In the audience were our Head students, student representatives from each Secondary year group, Secondary class parent representatives, the DCA committee and staff.

The DCIS Quintet comprising  Catherine (11KV) and Emilia (10SW) playing flute, Koto (9GK) and Christopher (13NB) playing violin and Mohamad (10HS) playing cello performed for the guests beautifully both before and after the ceremony.

Mr Short welcomed the guests to the opening and spoke about Dover Court’s unique educational offering and its long history in Singapore. The Guest of Honour, HE Kara Owen congratulated DCIS on the recent UK Impact in Singapore BritCham award and revealed how proud the British community in Singapore is of all that DCIS has achieved over the years.

Following Ms Owen's speech the building was officially opened by the cutting of five red ribbons. This was performed by Mr Short, HE Kara Owen, Mr Bull, Year 13 student Patrick and Year 7 student, Ayush who won the competition to name the new restaurant and also helped to design the logo.

Following the ribbon cutting Mr Bull closed the ceremony and spoke about how important the new home for Secondary staff and students has become. The Red Dot Restaurant in particular is a hub for students and staff alike to come together as one community. After some light refreshments Mr Bull escorted the VIP guests on a tour of the building.

Thank you to all our distinguished guests who joined us for the special occasion and to the Dover Court community for supporting us through this expansion.
