Our Learning Journey

Wow the children have been amazing during the Nativity rehearsals this week. They look and sound fantastic on the stage. We can’t wait to show you our performance next week. In class we have been busy preparing decorations for the hall. You will be able to see them on display during the concert.

All of the children have been assessed in Phonics and have been re-grouped according to their next step. Due to our busy Christmas performances next week, Phonics group will resume next term.

This week in Mandarin, Reception learned words about celebration and Christmas. They learned the ‘We wish you a merry Christmas’ song in Chinese and took part in paired activities around the classroom.

Physical Education

This week in PE, the children have been learning to find targets in order to understand what a target is when throwing. They were then encouraged to work with a partner to practice throwing at ta target.

This week in swimming, the children have been in their house teams and participated in a timed swim. They were excited to see how many widths they could do in a certain amount of time.

In Music this week, your children have started to play a C major arpeggio on the keyboard using fingers 1, 3 and 5 ascending and descending in sequence with 5 notes of the scale playing up and down with the right hand.
