Dear DCIS Parents and Families,
What a successful week we had last week at DCIS. Many of our students were involved in the ACSIS finals across a variety of different sports, congratulations to everyone who participated.
On Friday, the DCIS campus was once again transformed into a Halloween wonderland in a matter of hours and as soon as the cars arrived the stage was set for another highly successful DCA Trunk or Treat event. Thank you to everyone who organised, decorated and participated on Friday and for making it a truly fantastic DCIS community event. (See photos here.)
As Primary parents will know from their Weekly Roundup this week sees the soft launch of our new House system with the inter-house Cross Country. Secondary students are not totally left out and they will do some house activities in their PE lessons. The Grand launch of the House system will be centred around the Sports Days next term. By then we will have house T-shirts for sales in Lims.
As you may have noticed we are selling Poppies in reception. Our first batch did sell out but we now have some more if you still need one. The Royal British Legion are accepting the old 1 pound coin so if you have any in your foreign coin collection please feel free to put those into the collection tin. On Sunday 12th November the Service of Remembrance will take place at Kranji War Cemetery at 07:30am. Our students are part of a 4 school choir that will perform as part of this ceremony and all parents are very welcome.
A few weeks ago Central America and the Caribbean were drastically effected by natural disasters including an earthquake in Mexico. Although this is no longer in the news there is still a need to support people in the region. As such, on Friday the 10th November, DCIS will be holding a fundraising event to support the relief efforts in Mexico and the region. Students who donate $2 to the cause will be invited to wear mufti (non-uniform) for the day. The money raised will be donated to Save the Children for their projects in the area. The Singapore Save the Children Fund representative will visit the school later in the term to give us more information on how our money is being spent.
Best regards,
Mr. Christopher Short
Principal

Lunch Service: Sodexo
As previously communicated the main cafeteria is not accepting cash payments, but the DCIS Café will continue to accept cash. Although, the cash facility in the DCIS Café is really designed to accommodate parents for occasional use, we recommend that all students are signed up for a Campus Online account. This limits cash on site and allows parents to track purchases that students make during the day through their Campus Online accounts. You can access the Campus Online page at this link.
