Staff Profile: Marania Gkioka

Marania Gkioka

8MG: DSE Science Specialist

Marania completed her first degree, a BA in Linguistics at the University of Athens. She went on to complete a MSc in Special & Inclusive Education at the Institute of Education – University College London. 

Marania is a passionate SEN Teacher, dedicated to supporting and encouraging students to perform in their highest potential. She has just finished her 2 years Initial Training in the Systemic Approach. This training was a great opportunity for Marania to further develop her professional, interpersonal and intrapersonal skills.

During the last 7 years she has had the pleasure of teaching diverse groups of students, including those with ASD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, ADHD, Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties and Developmental Language Disorder.  These experiences have shaped her to become a well-rounded and compassionate teacher, who takes each student’s unique goals, needs, and interests  into  account  while  keeping  an  open  and  constant  communication  with parents/guardians and other professional groups as well.

Outside school, Marania loves designing and sewing her clothes. She also enjoys attending music festivals and participating in spinning classes.
