Hello, I am Hyun Soo, President of Student Council 2015/16...
The Student Council consists of Year 5 and Year 6 students and they have been selected by their classes to act as their voice. Our job is very important because we are trying to make the school the best it can be. We take the ideas of our fellow students, discuss them in our meetings and finally those ideas are discussed with Mr. Simon. If we have permission from Mr Simon, we will expand the idea further.
Recently we have been focusing on raising awareness and the importance of helmet safety and encouraging anyone who is riding a pushbike or motorbike to wear a helmet. We have been giving out stickers in the afternoon that were designed by Chloe in Yr 6.

We have been preparing for the Non-Teaching Staff Day, on the 23rd of November to show our appreciation towards the hardworking non-teaching staff at our school, like the guards & cleaners. On that day, the Student Council will serve them a delicious lunch with Pho and Che. They will be also be receiving a decorated card from us to thank them for all they do at BIS and we hope to make them realise it doesn’t go unnoticed.
The Student Council also plays with the MP1 students during their lunch break. We look out for any students who may need help or guidance. It’s a great way to get to know the younger students too!
