We have three weeks of Term 1 left and a large number of activities and events still to enjoy. This week alone, we were able to enjoy Teacher’s Day on Monday. It was an honour for me to see how our parent and student body thanked and showed respect to our wonderful teachers with flowers, food, refreshments and gifts. Our teachers really do appreciate the kind thoughts and gratitude that come their way. They are an outstanding group of teachers and I was thrilled to see how our students and parents appreciate them.
The quality of our teachers was also highlighted to me this week when I attended the final Middle Leadership Training that has been running for aspiring leaders within the school. Each participant made a presentation about a particular project that they have been working on in school. The presentations were of a high quality and I was pleased to be able to present each participant with their Certificate of Achievement.
This week, we have had many students in Phuket competing in various sports. Our Under 15 boys and girls team have been competing in the FOBISIA Games and the news coming back from Phuket throughout the week has been very pleasing, with our students achieving great things in all areas of competition. On their arrival back to HCMC, they were loaded with trophies and medals highlighting their great success. Congratulations to our wonderful students and staff! Additionally, we have several football teams also in Phuket competing in the annual BIS Phuket Football tournament which starts today (Friday), so good luck to our footballers.
As I have mentioned, we have a lot to look forward to over the next few weeks and tomorrow (Saturday 25th November) our Tu Xuong community will be holding a goodbye party at the campus. TX, as it is known, has always played a key role in the success of BIS HCMC and we will be very sad to say goodbye to it when it closes at the end of January 2018. However, everybody who has been involved with the TX campus will have some wonderful memories of their times there and tomorrow will be an opportunity for us to celebrate the great success of the campus.
I do hope that you have a very pleasant weekend.
