Year 4 EAL Lessons in Term 2

05 April 2018

This term, the EAL Year 4 students continued working very hard on improving their English. They did a lot of work learning about plural and singular nouns as well as using them with the possessive form.

  • Year 4 EAL

They also looked at how to use direct speech appropriately with adventure stories; use rhetorical questions for persuasive writing; and causal connectives for explanation texts.

To achieve their learning targets, they did many different activities such as role play, using iPad apps, Kung-Fu Punctuation, as well as editing their work and their partners’ work.

It is wonderful to see their confidence improve with reading and writing, but most importantly with speaking. Many were very shy at the start of the year, but they are now able to speak up in their mainstream classrooms.

Brilliant work so far Year 4 EAL!
