Year 3 gained a real insight into the creative processes used by our older Year 10 students. Each Year 10 student was able to ‘buddy’ and teach the younger students a range of techniques as they worked, including blending with oil paints and how to measure proportions when drawing faces. The children gained valuable insight into the ways artists develop their concepts and this was a perfect opportunity for BIS students to interact, collaborate and share ideas between the primary and secondary campuses. For our younger learners, it was a lovely opportunity to broaden their creative minds, see fantastic examples of artwork created by our Year 10 students and glimpse a look at the future art rooms they may be working in over the next few years when they transition over to the Secondary Campus.
For our IGCSE students, it provided them with the opportunity to mentor some very talented and curious younger artists, developing their leadership skills and answering lots of interesting questions.
