Are you ready for International Week 2020?

We are a weekend away from what is one of BIS HCMC Primary’s favourite events, International Week.

  • International Week 6
  • International Week 5
  • International Week 4
  • International Week 3
  • International Week 2
  • International Week 1

Across both campuses, students, teachers, parents and a number of our community partners will be captivated by the fabulous opportunities that International Week provides. Our school mission statement highlights that we are global citizens learning together, and events such as this highlight that goal.

Over the course of the week, students will be researching chosen countries, continents or themes and will be sharing their learning with other classes during cross year group visits, or themed mornings on the Early Years and Infant Campus. We will also celebrate the amazing food and culture of 28 different countries during the much loved Global Café which runs on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Please do remember to ensure that your child has a reusable plastic food container with them on the days they attend as there will not be any plates provided on the day. F3, Years 3 and 4 will enjoy the Global Café on Tuesday, and Years 1, 2, 5 and 6 on Wednesday.

Just as popular are the annual country parades where, as a school, we get to celebrate the amazing cultures and colours of our 50 represented student nations. The parades are a swirl of colour and action and are highly anticipated by our parents who are welcome to join us for the morning and enjoy watching their own child/children walk the stage with fellow country members. Do bookmark the following dates and make sure you get a bit of time off work to enjoy these parades with us. On the EYIC, parades will take place on Thursday the 16th at 8.30am for F1, F2 and F3; and then at 10.30am for Years 1 and 2. On the Junior Campus, parades will be on the following day, Friday, at 8.30am for Years 3 and 4; and then 10.30am for Years 5 and 6. So get your costumes ready!

We do hope you are able to celebrate with us next week and to give you a brief glimpse of what you can expect, please have a quick look at some of the highlights from last year's parade at EY&I on this video:

Have a great International Week everyone!
