The School Counsellor role presents a unique and rewarding challenge playing a crucial role in supporting the emotional wellbeing of the whole school community through one to one counselling and small group sessions, and by making an active contribution to our Wellbeing Curriculum. The School Counsellor leads the Counselling & Student Support Team and is part of the wider Welfare & Guidance team. Applications are invited from enthusiastic, qualified and experienced school counsellors who are accredited by the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) or equivalent.
A minimum of three years’ recent experience of providing counselling services for young people is essential. Experience of working with young people across the Primary and Secondary age range is desirable.
Professional supervision is provided in support of the school counsellor role.
