After completing my degree in Graphic Design and Advertising in 2003 I went on to work in the advertising sector coming up with ideas and visuals for a range of different types of advertising.
In 2006 I moved into teaching and taught in the same school in the UK for 11 years where I was head of the art department for 8 years. The move to teaching was the best decision I have ever made as I really love my job. I am passionate about my subject and enjoy seeing young people develop their artistic skills over time. I have been teaching at the British College of Brazil since 2017 I really enjoy the mix of international students.
I have really enjoyed the experience of working and living in Brazil. Before moving here I had never visited South America so I have been enjoying the opportunity to travel and explore new places during the school holidays. For me, Sao Paulo is a great city to live in, with a great range of art galleries and always new exhibitions and things to go and see. I also really enjoy the amount of live music here and have enjoyed discovering samba, even if I’m not very good at dancing to it! I also love the amount of green spaces available and love to walk in the parks and see the different wildlife here.
