The aim of the International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA) is to place young people in an all-immersive environment in which international mindedness can flourish. It brings educators, artists and pupils together in collaboration regardless of age, nationality and experience.
120 students are expected from the 8th to the 10th of May, continuing a recent trend of wonderful performing arts events the school is engaged with.
A number of teachers and parents are participating in the organisation of the event headed by drama teacher Mr. Mike Thomas.
“The ISTA middle school festival has a direct link to Nord Anglia Education and the Round Square Association in its aim to promote international schools and high quality learning. We at Regents' are very excited to be hosting schools and students from as far away as Bangladesh”.
Students are encouraged to partake in daily blogs discussing and reflecting on the day’s events via the Global Classroom webpage, adding another dimension to how pupils learn. Students and helpers are also encouraged to take full advantage of the plethora of extra-curricular activities such as barbeques, held after the scheduled events.
“It takes a lot to host an event of this magnitude and we are lucky at Regents' and in Pattaya to have so many good venues and locations to have a weekend that everyone can enjoy.
The students themselves are busy rehearsing and practicing in anticipation of the arrival the other schools students – many of whom still require billeting in host housing.
If anyone is interested in helping house pupils for the weekend please contact Mr. Thomas on mike.thomas@regents-pattaya.co.th
