Getting Others Involved through Senior Night at the Dorms

Getting Others Involved through Senior Night at the Dorms Our goal is to create bonding experiences for our boarders to bond and become involved at Windermere Prep

One of the goals of Residential Life this year is to demystify life in the dorms and find more direct ways of inviting the greater WPS family to come and share in our hidden-gem community.  It started with giving a presentation to all of the parents at Back-to-School Night.  It was nice to see so many hands go up when the question, "Who has hosted a boarding student at some point?" was asked.  However, not as many could attest that they have actually been to the dorms nor have too many of our day students.  When the SGA leaders came to the dorms last year to promote Homecoming Spirit Week, they were amazed and intrigued.

This year, SGA is working to find more ways to work with Residential Life to jointly promote, sponsor, and run activities both at school and at the dorms.  But ResLife is also finding other partners as we showcase all that the dorms have to offer.  To that end, the Senior Parent Committee hosts several events throughout the year to help celebrate the Seniors and were looking for a good venue to host an outdoor movie night.

Senior Night at the Dorms

On September 26th, approximately 40 – 50 seniors who are day students joined our Residential Life students at the dorms and under the stars for an outdoor movie on the big screen.  It was great to see the students eating pizza and s' mores, playing basketball and just hanging out together.
