Service Learning: Vital part of Laker Life

MS2
Service Learning: Vital part of Laker Life Learn more about our service opportunities for Middle School students.

Winston Churchill said, “We make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give.” This sentiment is emphasized with our service opportunities in Middle School. Although logging service hours begin in high school, Windermere Prep believes in encouraging awareness and opportunities before “it counts.” Thus, all students participate in our MS Community Service. Additionally, we host drives, events, and programs centered on serving the greater good. Doing so promotes heightened social responsibility, focuses on the 4 C’s, and increases adolescents' sense of purpose. Next week, our 6th graders travel to the Second Harvest Food Bank warehouse to prep and pack food for area shelters. This experience is eye-opening as students learn of the urgent need in our community, and they help to fill that need.
