The vibrant spirit of the Moon Festival filled the air as students and parents came together in their colourful Ao Dai for a memorable assembly at BIS Hanoi.

With the exciting new additions that arrived last week, our inventory totals several thousand different individual items and details everything from our smallest headphone adapters to our baby-grand piano.

It’s been a busy week in the Primary school, with CCA starting, reading workshops, and Moon Festival activities all taking place in addition to our regular curriculum, teaching, and learning.

It was a pleasure to spend time with the great number of parents who joined me this week for my termly Principal’s Coffee Morning.

As we approach the middle of Term 1, it is time for our Year 9 and Year 11 students to embark on an important journey in their educational lives—selecting their IGCSE and IB Diploma subjects.

Pham Bui Gia Khanh, a remarkable student from Year 11, has once again demonstrated her exceptional abilities by earning a High Distinction in the senior category of the prestigious 2023 John Locke global essay competition in Philosophy. 

I'm delighted to announce the commencement of our Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) programme, starting Monday, September 25th.

What an incredible honour for our students to perform at the UK Festival 2023, organised by the British Embassy in Vietnam!

This week, Performing Arts students had the unique opportunity to work with a leading British military band when we welcomed the Band of The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers to our school.

A Place to Belong was created by BIS Hanoi students in collaboration with local graffiti artist and graphic designer Duong Giap to showcase six characters symbolising the BIS Hanoi's core values.

The recent Secondary Parent Welcome Evening was an incredible success, with an impressive turnout of over 120 parents.

In July, Pham Bui Gia Khanh (Year 11) with other Year 11s, Nguyen Khanh Linh, and Hoang Thai Anh launched their first activity of Chalk Road project, a student-led project dedicated to fostering holistic and sustainable education.

As the full timetable began on Monday, it was back down to reading, writing, maths, and our full specialist lessons across the week.

The positive energy and enthusiasm that fill our hallways are a testament to the strong sense of belonging that defines our community.

It's been a fantastic couple of days welcome back all of our returning students.
