The United Nation High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development from 12 to 19 July at UN Headquarters in New York City is a unique opportunity for Nord Anglia students to contribute to the discussion and influence policy at the highest level.

- 12 July 2017: The students are busy fighting off jet lag but have been thoroughly enjoying their time in New York City so far! Today has been an exciting day for the students as they got to visit UNICEF Headquarters for a lunch reception and conference. This was attended by many VIP diplomats including the President of UNICEF and our very own CEO of Nord Anglia - Mr Andrew Fitzmaurice. The aim of this event was to hear from delegates from Bulgaria, Malaysia and Argentina about how well they are implementing some of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. After this 8 of the Nord Anglia students made an excellent speech on how children from around the NAE network have been promoting and implementing the SDGs. Tonight the students will deservedly relax with dinner at the Hard Rock Café and they will watch a Broadway show - Phantom of the Opera!!

- 14 July 2017: It's been an incredibly busy trip here in New York City! On Friday evening the students had the chance to experience a Broadway show - half of the students watched Miss Saigon and the 3 BIS Hanoi students watched Phantom of the Opera with the other half - they loved it!

-    15-16 July 2017: This weekend has seen the inaugural NAE Model United Nations take place at the NAE school here in Manhattan. The students have been split into teams and are representing different countries where they have to learn how to represent the best interests of that country, negotiate deals with other nations and learn how to write resolution documents. This has been a big learning curve for our students as none of them had prior MUN experience but they have got involved and are learning quickly. On Saturday night the students got to go shopping on 5th Avenue and tonight dinner will be at Ellen's Stardust diner - if you've been heard of it you should check it out on YouTube!

- 18 July 2017: Today we are having a tour of the UN headquarters, and then this afternoon we are having workshops with UNICEF to continue developing ideas to solve 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals. After their hard work today we will relax with ten-pin bowling and Mexican food for dinner!
