International Baccalaureate Options Evening 2017

On Thursday, October 12^th, BIS Hanoi hosted the International Baccalaureate Options Evening for parents and students. Our students currently in Year 11 will begin a new and exciting phase in their academic career when they join the Sixth From. The curriculum BIS Hanoi delivers in the Sixth Form is the International Baccalaureate which offers a challenging and diverse range of subjects to study. 

BIS Hanoi is proud to offer the IB Diploma Programme which is made from the combination of six subject groups: 1.  Language and Literature; 2. Language Acquisition; 3. Individuals and Societies; 4. The Sciences; 5. Mathematics; 6. The Arts. In addition, students develop critical thinking skills within the Theory of Knowledge subject and enhance their global citizenship with a programme of Creativity, Action and Service.  Within these groups we are excited to announce the potential addition of three new subjects for next year’s IB students: Spanish B; Computer Science; Sports Exercise and Health Science.

At BIS Hanoi we understand the significance of making option choices with a strategy in mind and so the purpose of our evening was to disseminate information about the course content, give advice on suitable subject combinations and provide an opportunity for parents and students to ask questions. By taking advantage of this advice our Year 11 students will make great option choices that allow for academic success and provide a pathway to their future goals. 

We were pleased to have a fantastic turnout to the event:  subject specialists, parents and students were able to engage in valuable conversations and there was a very positive atmosphere in the bustling library. Thanks to all of those that attended the Options Evening and made it such a success. We look forward to welcoming you to the Sixth Form in August 2018.
