Book Week at BIS Hanoi 2019 This week we celebrated Book Week with the theme ‘Storytelling’.

This week we celebrated Book Week with the theme ‘Storytelling’.

We started our week dressing up as our favourite characters and sharing parts from our stories. We then performed a character parade showing our fantastic costumes. The winners of our ‘Best Dressed’ competition got to share in a special character lunch from F1-Year 6.

We had a chosen book to share as a class. We decided to look at how we could tell the story and bring it to life. We used a mixture of Talk for Writing, drama and creative visuals to create our stories.

We took part in a snuggle up and read in the library with Ms Hull sharing stories with other classes throughout the day. We visited a book fair and got to explore all the wonderful books on sale. We brought new and exciting books to take home.

We then listened to stories around the fire, using song and drama to bring the story to life. We got to hear a new version of a traditional tale, showing us that stories can be shared in different ways.

We then shared our chosen stories with our parents. We displayed all that we had learnt about ‘Storytelling’ with voices, characters, props and visual aids. Stories can be shared anytime and anywhere, even 10 minutes of storytelling a day can make all the difference.

What a celebration of books and stories!
