Key Dates | Primary Learning Highlights
Dear Parents,
Our CCA program began this week with a wide range of activities for all Primary students. Choir, football, Zumba, swimming and lego to name just a handful of the exciting opportunities for our students. CCAs provide students with an opportunity to try new things, take risks and further develop already established interests. Mixing and meeting new friends and peers creates wonderful social development too. I look forward to sharing more stories from our CCA program with you in the coming weeks and months.
Mrs. Hayward, the Primary Key Stage 1 and EYFS English leader, was delighted to see so many parents at the Phonics drop in this week. Opening classroom doors and welcoming in parents to see teaching and learning at BIS strengthen the home school partnership giving parents a great insight into strategies that we use when teaching the students to read. Following the drop in, Mrs. Hayward talked through ways that parents can support their children when reading at home and Ms. Cabanne talked about the importance of ensuring that first language development continues and is crucial in order for a second or third language to build.
I encourage all parents to check their emails and register for the International Parade, International Buffet and the Cultural Exchange on Monday 10th and Friday 14th of October respectively.
This week’s spotlight on learning comes from Year 2.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
