Primary students have celebrated Earth Week this week in the school thanks to the huge efforts of the Junior and Mini Changemakers, who have spent months planning this event in school.

Did medieval people have ice skates? How did the Iranian Revolution affect oil prices? Where is Clue 13 for the earth day Scavenger hunt?! Who is king or queen of the Year 7 castle competition? Humanities week has been about the big questions and finding fun ways of getting students to engage beyond the classroom and engage with their peers from all year groups.

Muse 2023 is Here! The duality of hope and chaos within all our lives is the focus of this new edition.

This week in Maths Year 1 focused on measuring.

During Earth Week we will have an Art Competition for KS1 and KS2.

The curtains went up on Beauty and the Beast on Tuesday 28th March with the first of our 3 performances. With over 100 students involved from Year 5-Year 12 as either cast, musicians, crew, set building and prop design over the last few months, our students were excited to showcase their work.

The theme of the Primary writing competition is Science and this is a worldwide competition for children.

It has been another whirlwind of Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) in Term 2.  A massive thank you to everyone involved in leading, supporting, providing, assisting and, above all, enjoying our CCA programme!

The year 10 Biology students were conducting heart dissections where they explored the structure of the heart and the pathway that blood takes.

The Year 12 IB Biology students have been exploring the structures of pig and geese hearts as part of their latest topic on the circulatory system.

In Mini change makers we would like to make a positive impact in our school environment and community.

On Saturday 18th March a tournament like no other took place at BISB. A combative clash of titans, where strategic mastery went hand in hand with artistic flair.

BISB has successfully hosted two Nord Anglia Global Games Europe Tournaments in the past two weeks welcoming multiple U14 and U19 Football and Basketball teams from Ireland, Spain, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary.

Congratulations to Annamaria and Flora, who advanced to the Finals of the Oxford Schools debate tournament in the ESL category placing as a close second.

Year 9 have been starting their ‘Rates of Reaction’ unit and have looked at how you can tell if a reaction is occurring – colour change, fizzing, heat evolved, etc.

On Tuesday 14th March, we enjoyed a Performing Arts evening provided by our Year 10 IGCSE students in Music and Drama.
