Tanzania 2015
On our first day, we arrived at 3:00am to the camp looking forward to the big adventure that lies ahead in the unknown. We had 4 hours sleep or less but were truely excited to start our service work and discovering Afrtica. Day 2 was our first full day in Tanzania when we had to orientate ourselves around campus and had free time to get to know the students from the other schools. On the first service day We visited the Ngrisi village and got to see what the people of Africa live like. We ran downhill and uphill while hiking, it was excruciatingly tiring. As part of our project we sanded, scraped and painted half of the classroom. On the following day we had to saw wood to create shelves for a brand new library and we finished two classrooms. On day 5 and 6 we discovered the Safari life, slept in tents with the wildlife surrounding us. We got to experience the harmony of nature at its best with monkeys walking in gangs on the road and the elephants creating around the baby to protect it.

ISTA is over but not forgotten
Our whole school community pulled together to mount the first ever ISTA Drama Festival at BISB last week. The scale and complexity of organising such an event necessitated students, teachers and parents pitching in to do their part. None of this would have been possible of course without the help of our wonderful host families, cleaners, bus drivers, cooks, admin staff and technical gurus. It truly was a joint effort.
