Baking for a Good Cause 8EWA raised over 65,000 HUF in an amazing fundraising effort.

On Friday 24th November, the members of 8EWA set the bar in fundraising activities in Key Stage 3 with a charity bake sale.

From homemade brownies to traditional Korean sponge cake, students at BISB were able to sample delicious treats while raising money for a good cause. The final total amounts to over 65,000 HUF – an amazing achievement!

8EWA took the saying that charity begins at home to heart and decided that all funds raised would go to a local organisation, the Budapest Bike Maffia (BBM).

With the goal of to help those in need, the BBM work with individuals and families to make the world a more liveable place. While they already has a long-established connection with the Primary School, 8EWA hope that this bake sale is the first step in building a relationship between the charity and the Secondary School.

All funds raised will enable BBM to buy much-needed items such as blankets, sleeping mats, tinned food and toiletries like soap, shower gel, toothbrushes, toothpaste and baby wipes.

The members of 8EWA worked together as an impressively efficient team and displayed excellent organisational and communication skills. They would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who purchased cakes and snacks. A special thank you also goes out to other members of Year 8 who donated cakes, cookies and money to the bake sale. Well done everyone!
