Year 5 Wave enjoyed performing their class assembly Champions for Change. The children wrote the script for the whole assembly and really enjoyed taking responsibility for producing such a successful event.
The assembly focused on six figures from history: Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Helen Keller, Kemal Ataturk, Emmeline Pankhurst and Nelson Mandela. They presented their chosen figure in small teams using different ways, such as poetry, drama and songs to inform the audience about these remarkable people. The children’s level of independence has been really impressive and they can be really proud of the whole event.
