Year 11 students were able to successfully build an origami boat through effective communication and demonstrations. We learnt that through a collaborative attitude, participants on the receiving end of the tutorial were able to demonstrate the creativity aspect of CAS, while students giving the tutorial conveyed the service skills of the CAS program.
We could increase the complexity of this exercise by attempting to create an object that requires more skill and coordination. Students on the receiving end of the tutorial could also attempt to teach others how to build the origami boat, to strengthen their skills and understanding.
