Year 7 took advantage of the sunny weather on Wednesday, and as part of their topic on Space, went outside to see if they could measure the distance to the sun using a metre ruler.
By projecting an image of the sun onto a piece of card and using simple ratios they were able to calculate the value. The experiment was highly enjoyed, and it was a refreshing change to carry out some outdoor learning.
