In Year 12 Theory of Knowledge (TOK), students went on a scavenger hunt to find objects to include for a Knowledge in Mathematics exhibition.
A potted plant, violin, QR code, football and a few coloured pens later, discussions and interpretations had included: the golden ratio and beauty, two-fold symmetry, the difference between pure and applied mathematics and if we can argue that mathematics is discovered or created. This is useful preparation for the TOK assessment in Year 12, which involves presenting an exhibition of objects curated for a 'knowledge question' to their peers.
