I am excited to announce that our next Ask the Artist is Jazz Musician Giveton Gelin. Giveton taught himself how to play the trumpet at the age of 10 and has gone on to be mentored by some of the legends of Jazz. He has recently released his debut album called True Design which came out before he’d even graduated from Juilliard last summer!
Students have until 7th February to ask Giveton anything they’d like, from what inspired him to pick up a Trumpet, to how he found his mentors. All students who ask a question will receive 2x Global Campus 2* badges. You can see more details here.
A reminder that the Virtual Young Musician of the Year Competition closes for entries on Tuesday 25th January 2022. There are 17 categories for students to enter covering everything from instrumental performances and singing to music composition. Following the postponement of Journey’s End before Christmas, we are pleased to announce the new dates.
Year 9 have been showing their green fingers/thumbs by trying to germinate cress seeds under various conditions, to see what is important for the seed growth.
There was more basketball on Saturday. This time our U14 Girls A and B teams had their DVAC Festival here at BISB.
