Saturday 22nd January saw the U19 Girls travel to AISB for their first basketball festival of the season. The girls played phenomenally well, showing dedication, passion, and cohesive team performance in all three games.
They won their first game against Britannica 35-12 as a result of some excellent decision making, speed on the break and quick reactions with both offensive and defensive rebounds. In their second game, the girls produced another impressive performance, showing great anticipation and reading play, with a convincing win against AISB’s Junior Varsity Team 37-6.
The final game of the festival was the toughest of the three, against AISB’s Varsity team. Once again, the girls put on an outstanding defensive performance and were unlucky to narrowly lose this game 13-16. A huge congratulations to all the girls involved. They were absolutely fantastic throughout the day and we look forward to upcoming fixtures and our final DVAC tournament of the season.
