The CCA Scene Information regarding Term 1 Co-Curricular Activity

Dear parents

This week you will have received our Term 1 Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) brochures for students in primary and secondary school.

As a reminder, the CHQ registration platform has now been replaced fully with SchoolsBuddy.

At the end of the brochures, you will find a parent tutorial link for how to register for CCAs from now on.

I also include the link here:

SchoolsBuddy Parent Tutorial for CCA Registration

Changes to the Registration Process

One key change made to our registration process last year is that we will no longer operate a ‘first past the post’ system.

Instead, you will be able to register for CCAs at any time between 18:00hrs on Friday 2nd September to 09:00hrs on Tuesday 6th September.

You will also notice that you can indicate preferences of CCAs on any given day.

In adopting this new approach, our aim is to ensure that all students have an equal chance to participate in each termly CCA programme.

CCA Confirmation

During the registration period, you will receive notification of any application(s) made.

At this point, all applications are pending until the registration period closes.

Once the registration period has closed on Tuesday 6th September, the SchoolsBuddy system will then confirm which CCAs have been approved and you will receive further notification.

Term 1 CCAs will then begin next Monday 12th September.

CCA Cancellations

Owing to staff training and parents' evenings, there will be virtually no after school CCAs for primary students on:

  • Thursday 15th September
  • Thursday 22nd September

  • Thursday 29th September

The only CCA that will run for primary students after school on these dates will be Ballet with Dance Craze Academy for Year 1-4 since this is a paid CCA delivered by external providers.

Meanwhile, for the same reason there will be virtually no after school CCAs for secondary students on:

  • Thursday 15th September
  • Thursday 22nd September

The only CCA that will run for secondary students on these dates will be Chess for Year 7-9 since this is a paid CCA delivered by an external provider.

We can't wait to get started with the new programme and we look forward to the students' participation in what promises to be another action-packed term of CCAs.

Yours sincerely
