Friday 29th September was the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste. To recognise this, the Junior Changemakers researched about food waste and presented in the primary assemblies on Monday - thinking about SDGs 2 and 12 (zero hunger and responsible consumption). We talked about how important it is not to waste food on our plates and gave some great tips to help the younger children not waste food, such as not eating sweets before meals, taking a little bit first and then to ask for more if they are still hungry and not to have big snacks before meals. We set a challenge for Key Stage 1 and Year 3 to eat all their food at lunchtime and they would get a house point everyday this week. We were really impressed with how many students had eaten their lunch. Well done!
